Portfolio pieces are only done in the black & gray style. For these designs there is no redrawing of the design as it is a portfolio piece. There are no mock ups or sketches exchanged between clients and Sara prior to tattoo day. Additionally, she may use the elements or something similar to listed elements. From here Sara will take these elements (sometimes just one, sometimes all of them) and work with them as guidance. This is to get an idea of the clients personality and style to fit a unique design for their needs. For example: likes flowers, animals, feminine / dislike horror, humans, heavy black. PORTFOLIO designs give artistic freedom to Sara based on VERY general 3 likes and 3 dislikes. Sara does not send fully finished designs prior to the appointment date. After booking you are able to request a half way sketch which often is available few days prior to appointment date. From these Sara will gather ideas to propose for the tattoos, which often includes a rough sketch or placeholder image to communicate shape and flow. Prior to booking you are welcome to send Sara reference pictures of her existing work or inspirational photographs and designs. CUSTOM pieces are work that Sara draws on the basis of clients specific requests. There are always exception to this rule, but in general this applies to majority of tattoos. Larger design means that as the skin heals, there is more space for the natural "blurring" and the design will look better for longer time. This means that as the tattoo and skin ages and the lines in the tattoo naturally blur, the design will not become too unclear to "read". For larger designs the tattoo artist is able to add more detail to the designs without compromising the longdivity of the design. With choosing a size for a tattoo design, larger is often better. Giving ideas and elements for the tattoo artist to use is always welcome, as well as inspiration pictures. It is important to choose an artists that sense of design is style is corresponding to the end all result you are looking for. When choosing the design, giving the tattoo artist as much free room to plan out the design will ALWAYS result in a design that is going to be made by the artists best knowledge to suit the area of the body as well as making the design correspond the best to the artists own sense of aesthetics. Any rapid movements might affecting the artists ability to produce quality work. During the tattoo process it is important for the client to stay relaxed and still to supply the tattoo artist the best possible surface to work on. How the tattoo will look after healing is a combination of the tattoo, skin type and aftercare. This will happen to all skin types and can not be prevented with any aftercare. Ĭhoosing a tattoo design, size and location on the body As skin heals and ages it is important to remember that the tattoo will mature with the skin Lines will soften and the blacks will fade to dark grey. This is due to all design ideas and conversations being archived in client files for future use. In person consultations can be made via special request, but email is preferred. If there is a consensus on the final design, pricing and timing, you will be provided with a deposit form to secure an appointment date. From there all clients will receive a personal reply from Sara confirming the time estimate as well as any needed design advice and suggestions. Once booking manager Eryn has all the information needed in order to do estimations, she will forward the data package to Sara for review. More information you are able to provide, easier it is to correctly pinpoint time and cost for the tattoo. Filling in the contact form both Sara and Eryn will have a better understanding of your vision regarding your future tattoo.
